By default all of our customers are setup on a Godaddy webmail.  Godaddy offers a very robust webmail system which is easy to use and is free (included by Godaddy) as part of it’s domain service which we use.  However for sports handicapping sites, it does have its drawbacks:  1.  You may not be getting all your emails.  2.  You are not getting your emails sent.

First of all Godaddy does the following:

–  Implements a very stringent spam filtering system for outgoing emails.  All outgoing emails are sent through what is know as a SMTP server.  The filter has a bias against sites that have a sports handicapping theme thus it is very difficult to send emails out and receive emails.  We have experienced a lot of problems with this and have seen up to 50% of our clients affected by this.

Here’s the solution:

– Setup a free gmail account and use their smtp server.  You can still use your domain name.  For example if your website is www.sportshandicapper.com and your email is admin@sportshandicapper.com  you can still use this email address.  The only difference is instead of using Godaddy you can use gmail as the email client software.

The POP settings you would use are assuming your email account is :  admin@sportshandicapper.com

Incoming or POP settings:

Server:  pop.secureserver.net

As part of our service to you we are including some qualified email leads from our own lead generation sites on a regular basis. Please note that this is a partial list as we generate more leads than this. We will update this folder from time to time and notify you by email.

Previously you obtained the leads from a link however due to security issues we require you to setup a free account on Dropbox to obtain our free leads.

To setup an account and get your leads:

3. After we do this the leads will automatically be put into a dropbox folder right to your desktop! Everytime we update leads you will see them in that folder. You don’t need to contact us or do anything and we add new leads each month.

Please note that we don’t guarantee the response rate as they are sent to you as a complimentary service, so please don’t email us complaining about them:-) That will depend on your email delivery software and a lot of other factors. Our clients have had good success with our leads.

We have just identified a new ESP (email service provider) that assists sports handicapping services in delivering their email marketing campaigns.   As most sports handicappers know there are great challenges in delivering email campaigns due to the biases that companies like ConstantContact, MailChimp and other companies have against sports tips services.  This service will greatly assist in getting emails delivered without the threat of the account being closed.

Mail Chimp – Mail Chimp is a bit more expensive than YMLP and more expensive than Savicom but it offers up to 3000 emails per month for free which is higher than the other accounts.  This is great for low volume deliveries.  Don’t bother trying to setup 10 different accounts so you can get 30,000 emails.  They’ve already figured out a way to stop this!

We recommend choosing from the above  3 services depending upon your communications style.

NOT RECOMMENDED:

Savicom.net – This company steals emails from their customers and has constant issues with deliverability.  Highly not recommended.
